Knowledge that isn't shared is the biggest waste of all

REED TIPS

  • Placing aluminum foil between the reed and mouthpiece table improves the reed's performance.
  • Conjoining the aluminum foil between the reed and mouthpiece table increases   vibrations. The foil raises the reed .001 above the mouthpiece table.   This allows the reed to vibrate freely which enhances the sound, response, and attacks without hesitation.
  • Cut a strip of aluminum foil slightly narrower than the mouthpiece table.
  • Wet the foil and press it on the mouthpiece table slightly above the beginning of the mouthpiece window.
  • Place the reed on the mouthpiece and use the same procedure for setting the ligature on the mouthpiece.
